Show Me the Money Day Brings Financial Empowerment to Northwest Indiana

Show Me the Money Day Brings Financial Empowerment to Northwest Indiana

The first-ever “Show Me the Money Day” event brought together community organizations, local banks, and financial advocates to help empower residents throughout Northwest Indiana with valuable financial resources, education, and support.

Hosted through the BankOn NWI initiative, the event focused on helping individuals and families access trusted banking services, financial guidance, and free tax preparation assistance through VITA programs.

The event was made possible through the collaboration of the Northwest Indiana Reinvestment Alliance (NWIRA), CWI, and several community partners dedicated to financial wellness and economic opportunity.

Community Partners Supporting Show Me the Money Day

Local financial institutions and organizations came together to make the event both educational and impactful for attendees. Community support included participation from Centier Bank, Peoples Bank, Fifth Third Bank, Horizon Bank, Lake County Deputy Clerk Office represented by Deputy Clerk Marcus, and Anthem.

Participants had opportunities to connect directly with local banking representatives, ask questions about financial services, and gain access to tools that can help improve long-term financial stability.

Financial Education and Free Tax Assistance

One of the highlights of Show Me the Money Day was the free tax preparation support offered through VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance). Community members were able to complete their taxes while also learning about banking access, savings opportunities, and financial empowerment programs available within the region.

Attendees also enjoyed raffles, networking opportunities, and educational conversations focused on strengthening financial literacy and helping families build healthier financial futures.

Building a Stronger Financial Future Through BankOn NWI

Events like Show Me the Money Day demonstrate the importance of partnerships between nonprofits, financial institutions, and community leaders working together to increase financial inclusion throughout Northwest Indiana.

The BankOn NWI Steering Committee continues to work toward expanding access to safe and affordable banking services while encouraging financial education across local communities.

Community leaders expressed appreciation for everyone involved in making the event successful and helping residents take positive steps toward financial wellness.

Looking Ahead After Show Me the Money Day

As BankOn NWI continues growing, more opportunities for community engagement, education, and financial empowerment are expected throughout the year. Residents interested in learning more, attending future meetings, or becoming involved with upcoming events are encouraged to reach out and connect with the BankOn NWI Steering Committee.

The success of Show Me the Money Day reflects the power of collaboration and the positive impact that community-focused financial initiatives can have across Northwest Indiana.
